First week in Canada

Postby Anstice » 02 Feb 2009, 14:54

It's now a little more than one week that my wife is in Canada. She has had a temporary visa and will stay with us (me and children) during one month, before waiting for her permanent residence.

In one week she already has had many faces of Canadian winter, from ice rain, two feet of snow and really cold wind (-27 Celsius for her second day..).

She discovered shops very fast, her shoes were definitely not done for Canadian winter.
Adaptation was easy, we were 3 at the airport waiting for her, me, and my friends who are married since 6 years, she is Ukrainian, him Canadian. During the way back to home, the language used in the car was Russian Smiley

As I was working during this first week, she spent most of the time with her and she start to know already more about shops in Montreal than me...

On the negative note, only one negative word when she has met the wife of one neighbor...but there are rude people everywhere...

This year will be the first year of 2 Christmas...
Now we have 3 weeks of vacations...
