Hello.My name is Steve.I love model railways.Is there anyone in Russia that likes railways as I do.I would love to correspond with someone who would tell me about their model layout.I have been to Moscow and travelled to Penza on the train.I absolutely loved it.The train was so comfortable and the journey was the best I ever experienced.I do have a request however.I wanted to see if there were any O gauge model trains made in Russia.I discovered that in the 50s and 60s there was a set made that was commissioned originally by Stalin to compete with the American Lionel brand.This set was O gauge and came as a complete set.The set comprised of track,a very grand looking station,operating level crossing and gateman.There were operating lamps and lights in the coaches.Also included were some freight cars and a transformer.The set was supplied complete with a diesel locomotive and no further items could be purchased to expand the layout.I am very keen to acquire one of these sets.As soon as I saw photos of this set I thought it was the most charming train set I have ever seen.I will pay a good price for a very top condition set and I have some brand new Lionel O gauge and OO Hornby items that I will include in the price paid if that helps.Please reply about your layout and questions,if you have any,that you may want to ask me,and if you have any information about a set I would be very grateful.Thankyou for reading this.
