In Russia Moscow (and suburbs) looks like separate country - it's enormous, has a population bigger than many countries of the world, has it''s own political, economical climate than rest of Russia, and even it's own weather conditions.
(I'm not sure it's right, it's awful, it shouldn't be like that, but it's a fact)

Can you tell any other city that lives the same life?

I have also noticed about this and there was an article recently about this, Its a beautiful place to live better than any part of Russia.
